Location: Wangaratta VIC
Timeframe: Completion by August 2024
Overview
We’re upgrading Wangaratta’s electricity network to connect the future CleanPeak Energy Wangaratta Solar Farm.
This work will start on 18 March 2024 and be completed by August 2024 (subject to weather and permits).
For more information about the solar farm, visit the Clean Peak Energy website.
What does this project involve?
Our trusted delivery partner Ventia will carry out these upgrades which will include:
- replacing approximately 20 power poles between the Wangaratta Zone Substation and the planned Wangaratta Solar Farm site
- extending the 66kV line from the intersection of Bowser Road and Detour Road to the new solar farm
- installing overhead and underground communications cables along the entire length of the line from the Wangaratta Zone Substation to the solar farm.
This work will allow the new Wangaratta Solar Farm to feed the energy it generates back into the electricity network.
